PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya Mayor Poramet Ngampichet has outlined his administration’s priorities for his second term, introducing the “Better Pattaya” vision aimed at building a world-class tourism city with international-standard quality of life. Poramet delivered his policy direction to Pattaya City officials, deputy mayors, city council members, and department heads at Pattaya City Hall, with city officials formally handing over duties to ensure a smooth transition into his new term. The mayor said the policy announcement establishes a clear framework for city administration, focusing on transparency, accountability, public participation, and measurable results. He said all projects and decisions would be based on data, facts, and outcomes that residents can follow and evaluate.
Poramet described Pattaya as a globally recognized seaside tourism destination and a key economic center of the Eastern region, attracting tourists, investors, businesses, workers, and residents from diverse backgrounds. He said managing a growing multicultural city requires development across all areas, including the economy, society, environment, public safety, and infrastructure. Modern technology will also play a key role in improving city management and public services. The mayor said his second term will follow the “Better Pattaya” vision, with the goal of making Pattaya a “world-class tourism city with international-standard quality of life.” The administration will follow the principle of “Do it, Deliver it, Continue it,” focusing on completing ongoing projects, expanding successful initiatives, and introducing new policies for future growth.
The new Pattaya development plan includes three main goals and 33 policies covering economic development, social improvement, environmental protection, technology, and urban management.
The economic goal focuses on strengthening tourism, services, healthcare, sports, culture, the creative economy, and increasing income opportunities for local communities.
The social and environmental goal aims to improve residents’ quality of life through greater safety, equality, education, public health services, environmental conservation, and support for all groups in society. The technology and city management goal focuses on using data and digital systems to improve government services, develop smart infrastructure, promote clean energy, and strengthen transparent and efficient administration. Poramet said the ultimate goal is to ensure Pattaya continues growing as a sustainable smart city that can compete internationally while providing a better quality of life for residents and visitors.
