Thai Vietjet is expanding domestic and international flight frequencies ahead of the high season as it prepares for stronger travel demand and continued growth in Thailand’s tourism sector.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Thai Vietjet is expanding flight frequencies on several domestic and international routes in preparation for Thailand’s upcoming high travel season, citing expectations of continued growth in tourism demand. The airline said it will increase services on popular domestic routes, including Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi)–Chiang Mai and Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi)–Phuket, with each route operating up to 12 flights per day. Overall, Thai Vietjet’s domestic network will reach up to 70 daily flights across 12 routes.

International services to Mumbai, Kolkata, Seoul, and Shanghai will also see additional frequencies as the carrier moves to accommodate higher passenger demand during the peak travel period. Pinyos Pibulsonggram, Vice President for Commercial and Customer Service at Thai Vietjet, said the airline expects Thailand’s tourism industry to maintain positive momentum throughout 2026, particularly during the high season. He cited projections by the Tourism Authority of Thailand of more than 200 million domestic trips and around 33 million international visitors this year. He added that government tourism stimulus measures, including the Thai Tiew Thai Plus campaign, are expected to support travel demand, prompting the airline to expand capacity and offer passengers greater scheduling flexibility.

Thai Vietjet also confirmed it will launch a new daily Bangkok–Kuala Lumpur route on October 9, 2026, further expanding its regional network. Separately, the airline has introduced a limited-time promotional fare campaign, with selected tickets available from 0 baht, excluding taxes and fees, for bookings made between July 18 and July 23. The promotion applies to travel on selected dates between September 16, 2026, and May 31, 2027, subject to the airline’s terms and conditions.
