Sattahip police investigators question a 54-year-old man after tracking him down following an alleged incident involving a 16-year-old girl at Dong Tan Beach.

SATTAHIP, Thailand – A 54-year-old man has been brought in for questioning after a 16-year-old girl reported an alleged harassment incident at Dong Tan Beach, with police later identifying and locating the man seen in a video recorded during the encounter. The case began at around 5:30 p.m. on July 17, when the teenage girl reported to Sattahip Police Station that she had allegedly been harassed and threatened by an unknown man while sitting at Dong Tan Beach in front of the Sattahip District Office.

According to her complaint, the incident occurred while her boyfriend had briefly left to buy something. She alleged that the man approached her, made unwanted physical contact, and recorded a video. The girl secretly recorded footage of the encounter as evidence. When her boyfriend returned, the man reportedly left the area. Police received the complaint and began collecting evidence to identify the person involved. Later that evening at around 10 p.m., investigators were sent to locate the person seen in the video. Officers identified the man as Charoen, 54, a freelance worker, and invited him to Sattahip Police Station for questioning and record checks.


Police said the man admitted he was the person shown in the video recorded during the alleged beach encounter and is cooperating with the investigation.

During questioning, Charoen admitted that he was the person shown in the video. Police said he provided information about the incident and claimed he had been heavily intoxicated at the time.

He also told police that the girl’s boyfriend returned during the encounter and confronted him, leading to a physical altercation. He claimed he did not fight back and later learned that a complaint had been filed. Charoen reportedly apologized to the girl and the public over the incident. Police recorded his details, released him temporarily, and scheduled a follow-up meeting with investigators. Sattahip police said they will continue gathering evidence and conducting further questioning before proceeding according to legal procedures.
