BANGKOK, Thailand – A Saudi Arabian tourist was reunited with a missing bag containing passports, cash, credit cards, and an iPhone 15 after Don Mueang Tourist Police used the phone’s location signal to help track it down. The tourist, travelling with his family of four, reported the missing black handbag after arriving at Don Mueang Airport on a flight from Phuket. After reaching his accommodation in Sathorn, he discovered the bag was missing and contacted airport and airline staff, but initial checks found no record of the item. The bag contained four passports, 500 Saudi riyals, 265 Tunisian dinars, four credit cards, and a white iPhone 15.
The tourist told officers that the last time he saw the bag was on the aircraft, where it had been placed in the overhead storage area near his seat. After failing to locate the bag through the airline’s Lost & Found service, he requested assistance from Tourist Police. Don Mueang Tourist Police contacted the airline and airport Lost & Found departments but found no record of the missing bag being handed in. Officers then checked the location signal from the tourist’s iPhone 15, which showed the device was near aircraft parking bay 76 inside Don Mueang Airport. Working together with airport security staff and Don Mueang Police, officers inspected the area and coordinated with airline staff to recheck the aircraft. The missing bag was eventually found inside the passenger cabin of the same aircraft the family had travelled on. Tourist Police escorted the visitor to collect his belongings and confirmed that all items were safely returned. The tourist expressed his appreciation and thanked officers for their assistance.
