PATTAYA, Thailand – A broken high-voltage power line caused safety concerns in Jomtien on July 12 after an electrical short circuit sent a cable falling near a busy roadside area. Jomtien municipal officers were called to secure the area after the power line snapped near a 7-Eleven store beside the Grand Jomtien Hotel. Officials immediately blocked off the area to prevent people from approaching the fallen cable while coordinating with the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) to carry out urgent repairs.

Residents and visitors were warned to avoid the area and follow instructions from officials due to the risk of electric shock. The incident also prompted concern among local residents, who reported seeing a similar power line short circuit at around the same time near a coffee shop and beside Siam Commercial Bank in Jomtien. Residents described the situation as dangerous and urged authorities to check electrical infrastructure in the area. The public can report urgent incidents, request assistance, or contact Pattaya City officials through the Pattaya City Hall hotline at 1337.
