Foreign media discover Ayutthaya’s Thai heritage and crafts

Foreign media, diplomats and opinion leaders visit Ayutthaya to experience Thai silk weaving, traditional crafts, Khon performances and cultural heritage sites showcasing Thailand’s identity on the global stage.

AYUTTHAYA, Thailand – The Public Relations Department (PRD) recently hosted a press tour titled “Royal Inspirations: Elevating Thai Identity on the Global Stage” to Ayutthaya province. The trip took foreign media, diplomats, and opinion leaders to explore how traditional wisdom and local craftsmanship are being leveraged to drive economic growth and enhance the quality of life for local communities. The activities featured a visit to the SUPPORT Foundation under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother at Ban Ko Kerd, where guests witnessed intricate silk weaving, ceramic painting, and basketry.



Attendees explored exhibitions highlighting exquisite Thai craftsmanship at the Sustainable Arts and Crafts Institute of Thailand (SACIT). Participants enjoyed a Khon performance at the “All About Khon” center and learned about the artistry behind the Khon masked dance.  The tour also included a cultural performance by Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Rajabhat University and a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Wat Chaiwatthanaram.
