NONTHABURI, Thailand – A parcel delivery worker has filed a police complaint after claiming he was attacked by a group of four people following a misunderstanding over a remark he made while delivering a package in Nonthaburi. The incident occurred on July 9 in Soi Than Samrit, Tha Sai Subdistrict, Mueang Nonthaburi District. The delivery worker, identified as Chumphon, 37, said he suffered a head injury and scratches on his arm after being assaulted. The case gained attention after the Facebook page “Khao Nonthaburi” shared his complaint, in which he said he was attacked four-on-one and was concerned about his safety because he regularly delivers parcels in the area.

Chumphon said he arrived at the location to deliver a cash-on-delivery parcel worth 8,234 baht. Before arriving, he contacted the customer and suggested paying through the Shopee application because he did not want to carry a large amount of cash. He said the customer declined, and while he was still on the phone, he turned to lift a large package and accidentally let out a sound of pain, saying “oh,” as he struggled with the weight. He claimed the customer misunderstood the remark as a complaint or insult.

According to Chumphon, the customer later confronted him when he arrived at the house and questioned why he had made the remark. He said he tried to explain the situation, but the argument escalated when the customer and several other men allegedly approached and assaulted him. Chumphon said he attempted to defend himself but was overwhelmed and fell to the ground before people nearby intervened and stopped the incident. He said he normally delivers parcels to the area once or twice a month and now feels worried about returning there alone for work.

“I want people to stay calm. If there is a misunderstanding, it can be discussed and resolved,” he said, adding that he wanted police to take legal action and ensure his safety. Chumphon has already reported the incident to Ratthanathibet Police Station and received medical treatment for his injuries. He is also seeking compensation for the damage caused. Police are investigating the incident and will proceed according to the evidence collected.
