PATTAYA, Thailand – Municipal enforcement officers in Jomtien coordinated with local police to detain a man found carrying two knives and suspected illegal substances near Jomtien Beach early on June 30, raising concern among vendors, tourists, and residents in the area. At around 09.40 a.m., the Jomtien municipal enforcement team received reports from beachside operators that a man appeared to be intoxicated and was seen walking near Soi 4 of Jomtien Beach while carrying two knives strapped to his back. The situation prompted immediate concern over public safety in the busy tourist area. Pattaya City Municipal Enforcement (Jomtien) officers responded to the scene and coordinated with Pattaya City Police to assess and secure the area.

The items were seized for further examination, and the individual was taken to Soi 1 Jomtien Beach for temporary holding while awaiting formal police procedures. Authorities confirmed that the suspected substances will undergo laboratory testing to determine their nature. If confirmed to be illegal drugs, further legal action will be taken in accordance with Thai law.
Officials said the swift coordination between municipal officers and police highlights ongoing efforts to maintain safety and order in Pattaya’s key tourism zones, ensuring confidence among both visitors and local residents.
