PATTAYA, Thailand – Police have arrested a 46-year-old man and seized an illegal homemade firearm during an ongoing crime suppression campaign across the greater Pattaya area. The arrest was made on June 29 as Banglamung police continued operations targeting individuals involved in crime, narcotics, and the illegal possession of firearms. The campaign is part of a broader effort to enhance public safety and reduce criminal activity in the district.



During an intelligence-led operation, Banglamung police investigators arrested Somchai Nonsang, 46. A search of the suspect led to the discovery of one homemade firearm, which officers seized as evidence. Somchai was charged with illegal possession of a firearm without a licence and was taken, along with the seized weapon, to investigators at Banglamung Police Station for further legal proceedings. Police said they will continue conducting proactive operations throughout the Pattaya area to combat crime, illegal drugs, and unlawful firearms in an effort to safeguard residents, businesses, and visitors.
