Thailand tees up Chinese Golf Tourism through 2026 Bangkok Classic

The Tourism Authority of Thailand is using the 2026 Bangkok Classic to showcase the kingdom’s world-class golf courses, culture, and attractions to Chinese visitors.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Tourism Authority of Thailand’s Guangzhou Office has partnered with the China Golf Association and Li Sheng Sports to promote Thailand as a golf tourism destination through the 2026 Bangkok Classic. The tournament, taking place June 25-28 at Phoenix Gold Golf & Country Club in Bangkok, is also supporting efforts to attract more high-value travelers from China under the government’s Trusted Thailand policy. The 2026 Bangkok Classic is one of the premier events on the China Tour and is jointly sanctioned by the Asian Development Tour. This year’s tournament features 144 professional golfers from 22 countries and regions, along with more than 60 amateur golfers from China, giving participants an opportunity to experience Thailand’s golf courses and tourist attractions.



The TAT is also working with tournament organizers on a promotional campaign showcasing Bangkok’s sports tourism, culture, cuisine, lifestyle, and attractions. Videos featuring participating golfers are being distributed through Chinese media and social media platforms to reach potential visitors. China remains Thailand’s largest source of international visitors, with more than 2.53 million arrivals recorded between January 1 and June 20, 2026. The tournament has also attracted coverage from more than 30 Thai and Chinese media organizations, helping raise international awareness of Thailand as one of Asia’s leading golf destinations. (NNT)
