
PATTAYA, Thailand – The Laem Chabang Port Development Project Phase 3 opened its construction site to the public as part of a community engagement initiative aimed at strengthening understanding and transparency, with overall progress now more than 95% complete. The “Open House Phase 3: Community Relations Visit” was held on June 26 at the Laem Chabang Port Development Project site in Chonburi province. The event was presided over by Ratthakorn Khiawphaisan, Director of Laem Chabang Port, and attended by more than 200 participants, including government representatives, local administrative organizations, community leaders, fishing groups, business operators, and members of the media.
The program was organized in collaboration with the CNNC Joint Venture and CHEC (Thailand) Co., Ltd. to provide updated information on construction progress and offer stakeholders the opportunity to visit the actual development area. Participants were also briefed on operational plans and environmental protection measures in accordance with the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) framework. Speaking at the event, Ratthakorn emphasized that community participation remains a key priority for the port authority. He said ongoing communication is essential to build understanding, reduce concerns, and strengthen confidence in the project’s long-term development goals.
He added that Phase 3 is a key part of Thailand’s strategy to enhance Laem Chabang Port into a world-class logistics hub, improving national transportation capacity while supporting sustainable economic growth. During the visit, participants were also presented with progress briefings and taken on-site to observe ongoing construction work firsthand. The session included discussions and exchanges of feedback between stakeholders and project officials, along with a recognition ceremony honoring community leaders and fishing groups who have supported the project throughout its development. The Laem Chabang Port Phase 3 project is considered a major infrastructure investment aimed at expanding Thailand’s maritime and logistics capacity, reinforcing its role as a regional transport hub in the years ahead.
