PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya municipal officers carried out a beachside enforcement operation targeting the unauthorized rental of mats and chairs along Pattaya Beach, as authorities moved to reclaim public space for general use. The operation, conducted jointly with the Special Affairs Unit, focused on areas where individuals were allegedly setting up informal rental spots for tourists directly on the beach. Officials said the activity involved the use of public beachfront areas for commercial gain without authorization, including the placement of mats, chairs, and related equipment offered for rent to visitors.

During the operation, several items were confiscated and removed from the beach area before being transported to the municipal enforcement center for documentation and further legal processing. Authorities said the action is part of ongoing efforts to maintain order along the beachfront, prevent the unauthorized occupation of public space, and ensure equal access for all visitors. They added that similar inspections will continue as needed, particularly in high-traffic tourist zones where informal commercial activity has been reported. The city urged beach users and operators to comply with regulations and help preserve Pattaya Beach as a shared public space.
