ETDA will host AI Governance Week 2026 from June 29 to July 3, bringing together experts from government, business, academia, and civil society to promote responsible AI adoption.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Thailand’s Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA), under the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES), will host AI Governance Week 2026 (AIGW 2026) from June 29 to July 3, reinforcing the country’s ambition to become a regional hub for AI Governance and responsible AI adoption. The event will also mark the transition of ETDA’s AI Governance Center (AIGC) into the AI Governance Practice Center (AIGPC), a new platform focused on helping organizations put AI governance principles into practice. The center will provide tools, training, advisory services, and best-practice frameworks to support the safe and effective deployment of AI. Rojana Lamlert, Director of AIGC, said the shift reflects the growing need for organizations to move beyond understanding AI governance and toward implementing it. AIGPC will support organizations throughout the AI lifecycle, from readiness assessments and risk analysis to governance design and post-deployment monitoring.

The center is also expected to serve as a regional resource for AI governance, helping countries and organizations develop approaches suited to their own legal, technological, and operational contexts. ETDA is additionally pursuing the long-term goal of establishing AIGPC as a UNESCO Category 2 Center, with the process expected to continue through early 2028. AIGW 2026 will bring together representatives from government, business, academia, the financial sector, the justice system, and civil society. The opening-day AIGPC Annual Conference on June 29 will focus on strengthening Thailand’s AI ecosystem through trustworthy, transparent, and responsible AI practices. Attendance is free of charge.
