The Second Army Area commander says Thai troops remain in full control of Prasat Khana in Surin province and continue to monitor the Thai-Cambodian border while maintaining operational readiness.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Second Army Area Commander Lt. Gen. Weerayuth Raksilp said Thai forces remain in full control of the Prasat Khana area in Kab Choeng district, Surin province, after securing the site during the second round of clashes along the Thai-Cambodian border. During a visit to the area, Lt. Gen. Weerayuth said Prasat Khana was one of the main objectives in efforts to retake territory and that Thai forces continue to maintain control of both the site and the surrounding area.

He said the military is closely monitoring all sections of the border, including areas under the responsibility of the 1st Army Area, the 2nd Army Area, and the Royal Thai Navy in Chanthaburi and Trat provinces. Authorities are also continuously assessing personnel, weaponry, and logistical support while maintaining readiness in manpower, resources, and training. Lt. Gen. Weerayuth noted that the side that is better prepared, moves faster, and possesses greater capability is more likely to conduct operations effectively. The 2nd Army Area commander is also scheduled to lead a merit-making ceremony today in memory of military personnel who lost their lives while performing duties along the Thai-Cambodian border. (NNT)
