
PATTAYA, Thailand – Police have launched a hunt for a motorcycle thief who snatched a woman’s handbag during a late-night robbery in Jomtien before speeding away into the darkness. The incident occurred at approximately 1:10 a.m. on June 12 along Jomtien Second Road, near Soi 7 and close to Chang Bar. Patrol officers from Pattaya City Police Station were dispatched after receiving reports of a bag-snatching.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim visibly shaken. She told police that she had been walking in the area when a suspect riding a motorcycle suddenly approached and grabbed her brown floral-pattern shoulder bag before accelerating away. According to the victim, the stolen bag contained 4,000 baht in cash, a mobile phone, and several amulets. The total value of the stolen property is still being assessed. The victim was unable to provide details about the motorcycle, including its make, color, registration plate, or the exact number of offenders involved. She only reported seeing the suspect flee along Jomtien Second Road toward South Pattaya immediately after the theft.
Police escorted the victim to file an official complaint and have begun reviewing CCTV footage from nearby businesses and along the suspected escape route in an effort to identify and track down the perpetrator. Investigators are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information about suspicious motorcycles or individuals in the area around the time of the incident to contact Pattaya police as the search continues.
