BKS launches 20 nationwide bus routes linking Bangkok to mountains, waterfalls, and coastal destinations to promote Green Season travel.

PATTAYA, Thailand – Thailand’s state-owned transport operator The Transport Company Limited (BKS) has launched a nationwide campaign promoting Green Season travel through 20 scenic bus routes connecting Bangkok with major tourism destinations across the country. Managing Director Attawit Rakchamroon said the company currently operates services covering major cities, secondary towns, and key tourism districts, allowing direct access from Bangkok to natural attractions without requiring private vehicles.

He said the initiative is designed to support sustainable travel during the rainy season while making it easier for non-car users to reach nature destinations. The campaign also aligns with growing travel trends such as “Green Season” and “Low Travel,” which are popular among younger travelers and working-age groups seeking nature-based experiences and community tourism.

The operator said the campaign encourages travelers to explore Thailand’s natural landscapes during the rainy season, when forests, waterfalls, and mountain regions are at their most lush and vibrant. It also aims to reduce transportation barriers and promote environmentally friendly travel options.

Tourism push during Green Season

The company said the initiative supports Thailand’s efforts to promote domestic tourism during the Green Season by highlighting nature-based travel experiences, community tourism, and scenic routes ideal for photography and social media content. Officials added that the campaign reflects a broader shift in travel behavior, particularly among younger generations who prefer experiential travel and affordable, accessible transportation options. BKS said it hopes the campaign will encourage more people to choose public transport over private vehicles while exploring Thailand’s natural attractions during the rainy season.

The new campaign encourages affordable and sustainable travel as passengers explore Thailand’s natural beauty during the rainy season.
