His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen granted an audience at Dusit Palace for Interior Ministry officials to receive royal floral offerings ahead of Visakha Bucha Day 2026.

BANGKOK, Thailand – On May 31, His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen granted an audience at Dusit Palace to Permanent Secretary for Interior Unsit Sampuntharat and Deputy Permanent Secretary for Interior Chotnarin Kerdsom. The officials were presented with royal flower trays to be offered before the “Phra Sri Maha Bodhi Dasamarajabophit” Bodhi tree in Bangkok and in all 76 provinces. His Majesty the King previously presented these sacred bodhi trees to every province in Thailand. The saplings were grown from seeds taken directly from the holy Bodhi tree at the Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya, India, the site of the Lord Buddha’s enlightenment. His Majesty subsequently designated the name “Phra Sri Maha Bodhi Dasamarajabophit” for these trees, signifying that they were sacred bodhi trees bestowed by the King.

In observance of Visakha Bucha Day, Their Majesties graciously provided royal floral offerings to be presented as Buddhist homage to the Phra Sri Maha Bodhi Dasamarajabophit trees planted at temples, religious sites, public parks, provincial halls, and other designated locations nationwide. This royal initiative demonstrates Their Majesties’ deep faith in Buddhism and commitment to the teachings of the Lord Buddha. It also encourages the Thai people and Buddhist communities to uphold Buddhist principles and foster spiritual well-being and auspiciousness on Visakha Bucha Day 2026. (NNT)
