
BANGKOK, Thailand – The Embassy and Permanent Mission of the Republic of Türkiye in Bangkok hosted Turkish Cuisine Week 2026 from 21–27 May 2026 under the theme “The Heritage Table”(Turkish: “Bir Sofrada Miras”), welcoming members of the diplomatic corps, cultural representatives, media members, and distinguished guests, including Public Relations Department (PRD) Director-General Sudruetai Lertkasem. H.E. Ambassador Jülide Kayıhan stated that the annual event reflects the strong cultural friendship between Türkiye and Thailand, emphasizing that both nations share a deep appreciation for culinary traditions and hospitality.
Throughout the celebration, guests experienced authentic Turkish cuisine, cultural displays, and culinary storytelling that highlighted Türkiye’s rich gastronomic heritage passed down through generations. Among the featured traditional dishes were Baklava — a beloved Turkish dessert made with layers of filo pastry, nuts, and syrup; or Yaprak Sarma — grape leaves stuffed with seasoned rice, herbs, and aromatic spices. The event also featured exhibitions and presentations showcasing the craftsmanship, traditions, and cultural significance behind Turkish cuisine, demonstrating how food can serve as a bridge between peoples and cultures. Turkish Cuisine Week 2026 further highlighted the growing relations between Türkiye and Thailand through cultural exchange, tourism, and shared culinary experiences. (NNT)
