Restaurant owner in Kanchanaburi vows to pursue justice after CCTV allegedly shows customer harassing staff, promising full legal action and protection for his employee.

PATTAYA, Thailand – A viral CCTV clip from a restaurant in Lat Ya subdistrict, Mueang Kanchanaburi, has sparked outrage online after allegedly showing a male customer sexually harassing a female waitress during service on May 20. The footage, shared by Facebook user “Aut Panupong,” who is also the restaurant owner, shows a group of customers dining when one man is seen allegedly making inappropriate physical contact with a staff member inside the restaurant. The clip quickly spread on social media, drawing condemnation and renewed calls for strict legal action.

In a strongly worded statement, the owner said the behavior was unacceptable and confirmed the case is now being pursued through legal channels. He added that CCTV footage and witness statements have already been submitted to authorities. He said he is standing firmly with his employee and will push the case until justice is delivered, stressing that no one should be subjected to harassment under any circumstances. The restaurant will fully cooperate with investigators and demand a transparent process. He also raised concern over remarks made during the initial response by authorities, saying it created uncertainty for the victim and her family, and called for fair handling moving forward.

Reaffirming his stance, the owner said he will “protect his staff at all costs” and pursue accountability regardless of the offender’s status. He added that in service environments, disruptive incidents are often linked to intoxication and inappropriate social behavior, including cases where individuals act out in public settings, sometimes in front of peers, making CCTV and rapid reporting essential tools for staff safety. Similar cases have also been reported to police in Bangkok, Pattaya, and Phuket, where incidents in nightlife and hospitality venues are increasingly documented and escalated through formal complaints.
