Education Minister inspects Kalasin schools, pushes overcrowding and reform agenda

An inspection tour in Kalasin saw the Education Minister reviewing school facilities and consulting local leaders, with a focus on reducing teacher workload, improving safety, and advancing education reform policies.

KALASIN, Thailand – Minister of Education Prasert Jantararuangtong conducted an official inspection in Kalasin Province on May 17, focusing on alleviating school overcrowding, reducing teacher workloads, and ensuring safer learning environments for students. The Minister visited Klang Dong Rat Upatham School in Mueang Kalasin District to assess the readiness of academic buildings and gather feedback from administrators, educational staff, and community leaders.



​The Minister reviewed campus infrastructure to identify facilities requiring urgent maintenance and to determine state funding requirements. He also held a consultative forum with subdistrict chiefs, village headmen, and local agencies, and committed to considering their recommendations to improve operational flexibility, reduce administrative burdens on teachers, modernize curricula, and strengthen anti-drug measures on school grounds. The delegation then visited Phinit Rat Bamrung School in Yang Talat District to inspect academic facilities. The Minister held a second consultative session with local administrators and faculty to address logistical challenges.


​The Education Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to education reform through five core policies: reducing teacher workloads, narrowing educational inequality, modernizing curricula to reflect real-world needs, strengthening school safety, and updating education laws to align with current social and economic conditions.
