BANGKOK, Thailand – The government is expanding the use of mobile grocery trucks to deliver low-cost goods directly to communities under the “Thais Help Thais” program, as rising inflation and volatile fuel prices continue to strain household budgets. The measure targets areas where access to affordable goods remains limited, offering an alternative to fixed retail outlets.
Under the program, mobile vendors will distribute essential items at reduced prices, supported by government fuel subsidies and access to low-cost products for resale. Operators can apply online at https://mobilemarket.bora.dopa.go.th between May 1 and 7, with identity verification required through local authorities. Approved participants will be announced on May 12.
Officials say mobile grocery trucks provide a flexible distribution system, reaching consumers in both urban and remote areas without requiring travel to designated shops. The approach is expected to help reduce household transportation expenses while expanding access to essential goods. (NNT)
