PATTAYA, Thailand – A fight involving foreign tourists broke out in Pattaya during the early hours of April 22, causing chaos along Soi Buakhao near Honey 1.
According to a video posted on social media by a local resident, two foreign men were seen attacking another foreign man in the middle of the road at around 2 a.m. The incident reportedly took place outside a beer bar in the area and drew the attention of many tourists and passersby.
Footage from the scene showed a Thai woman in a black shirt stepping in to help the man being attacked, leading to a chaotic confrontation. Good Samaritans, including local motorcycle taxi riders, eventually intervened to separate the group before police patrol officers arrived.
A witness who filmed the incident said the man who was attacked had been involved in a verbal argument with people inside the bar, including two younger foreign men, before the situation escalated into violence.
During the scuffle, one of the foreign men allegedly spat in the Thai woman’s face while bystanders were attempting to break up the fight, angering people at the scene.
Staff at the bar said the two foreign men had been drinking inside before the altercation began outside. The exact cause of the dispute remains unclear.
Police from Pattaya City Police Station said no formal complaint had yet been filed by any of the parties involved, but officers are reviewing video footage and witness accounts as part of their investigation.
