PATTAYA, Thailand – A 58-year-old motorbike taxi driver was brutally attacked and robbed while on his way to pick up a customer in Si Racha on the morning of April 14.

Rescue workers from Sawang Prateep were alerted at around 7:00 AM to an assault incident near a road beside Assumption Sriracha College in Surasak subdistrict. Upon arrival, they found the victim, identified as Atthitat Sukya, suffering from serious injuries.

He sustained wounds to his face, a head injury, and bruising on both arms consistent with being struck by a hard object. First responders provided initial treatment before rushing him to Somdet Phra Boromma Ratchathewi Hospital at Sriracha for further medical care.

According to the victim, he had received a call from a regular client requesting a pickup from a hotel following a domestic dispute. After initially going to the wrong location, the client sent a new location. While traveling along a railway-side road near the school, he was suddenly ambushed by a young assailant wielding a wooden object.

The attacker struck him on the head, assaulted him, and then stole his motorcycle—a brown-black Honda Wave 125—before fleeing the scene, leaving the victim injured on the roadside.

The victim stated he was unsure of the motive behind the attack and urged police to apprehend the suspect, noting the boldness of carrying out such a crime in the early morning.

Authorities are expected to investigate the incident further, and the victim plans to file an official police report after receiving medical treatment.
