PATTAYA, Thailand – Rescue workers were left shocked after discovering a firearm hidden on an injured motorbike rider following a crash in Pattaya late on April 13.
Emergency responders from Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation Pattaya were dispatched to an accident involving two motorcycles inside Soi Kor Phai in South Pattaya at around 11:30 PM.
At the scene, two grey motorcycles were found lying on the road with minor damage. Nearby, an injured man—believed to be intoxicated—was found disoriented and complaining of neck pain. Rescuers provided first aid before rushing him to Pattaya City Hospital for treatment.
However, the situation quickly escalated when rescue workers noticed a suspicious bulge in the man’s trouser pocket. Upon closer observation, they suspected it could be a firearm and discreetly alerted officers from Pattaya City Police Station without alerting the injured man.
Police later confirmed the discovery of a black revolver loaded with a .380 caliber round inside the chamber. The weapon was seized as evidence.
According to a rescue volunteer, the man appeared to have been participating in Songkran water activities prior to the crash, as his clothes were soaked. While preparing to transport him, the team spotted what looked like the grip of a gun and acted cautiously to ensure safety.
The injured man, identified as 41-year-old Watchara, was reportedly unable to provide clear information due to his condition. Police have detained him and will proceed with legal action as investigations continue.
