PATTAYA, Thailand – Authorities are moving forward with plans to modernize the main pier on Koh Larn, with construction progress reported to be on schedule as part of efforts to improve marine transport and support sustainable tourism.
During a site visit on April 10, Pattaya Mayor Poramet Ngampichet, along with city officials and council members, inspected ongoing work at the Na Baan Pier, the island’s primary gateway for tourists.
The project, a collaboration between Pattaya City and the Marine Department Thailand, involves the construction and upgrade of a modern pier structure stretching approximately 200 meters, including associated buildings and facilities.
Officials confirmed that construction is progressing according to plan, with completion expected by August 2027. Once finished, the upgraded pier is set to provide a stronger, more durable, and more efficient transport hub capable of handling increased visitor numbers and supporting a wide range of marine activities.
The development is expected to significantly enhance travel convenience for tourists heading to and from Koh Larn, while also reinforcing Pattaya’s long-term vision of sustainable tourism and improved infrastructure.
City leaders emphasized that the project aims not only to accommodate growing tourism demand but also to elevate safety standards and overall visitor experience from arrival to departure.
