BANGKOK, Thailand – The government reports a positive response to the “Leave Your Home with the Police” safety campaign for the 2026 Songkran festival, with 1,869 residences enrolled on the first day. The campaign aims to provide confidence for citizens traveling to their home provinces or vacationing during the long holiday.
Deputy Government Spokesperson Lalida Periswiwatana stated that the Royal Thai Police are continuing the program to protect lives and property while homes are unattended. The enrollment of 1,869 houses on April 10, the first day of the project, demonstrates strong public trust in these safety measures during extended holidays.
Citizens can register for the program through the “Police Care” or “Home Deposit 4.0” mobile applications, or by contacting their local police stations directly.
The Deputy Spokesperson emphasized that public safety is a government priority during major festivals and that the program helps reduce anxiety, enabling citizens to travel with confidence. Authorities also reminded the public that the 191 emergency hotline is available 24 hours a day for emergencies or suspicious activity. (NNT)
