PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya is facing intensifying heat conditions as temperatures climb toward the 40°C mark, with forecasters warning of scorching days and high humidity across the region in the lead-up to the Songkran holiday.

While official readings currently hover in the mid-30s, the “feels like” temperature is expected to rise significantly higher due to humidity and light winds, creating uncomfortable and potentially dangerous conditions for both residents and tourists.

The extreme heat comes as Thailand enters its annual hot season, with coastal cities like Pattaya experiencing prolonged sunshine, haze, and limited rainfall. Meteorologists warn that temperatures could peak further in the coming days, particularly in inland and urban areas.

Authorities are advising people to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, stay hydrated, and limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours. Special caution is being urged for vulnerable groups, including the elderly, children, and those with underlying health conditions.

The rising heat is also expected to impact tourism activity, with beachgoers, outdoor workers, and festival participants facing increased risk of heat exhaustion. With Songkran just days away, officials are reminding the public to take precautions while traveling and celebrating.

Despite the harsh conditions, Pattaya’s beaches and attractions remain busy, with many visitors continuing to enjoy the seaside atmosphere—though increasingly seeking shade, water activities, and indoor venues to escape the relentless heat.
