PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya City officials have addressed a case of road subsidence after receiving a report from a concerned resident through the city’s 1337 hotline.

Authorities said the issue was investigated and found to have been caused by a pipe connection installed without official permission and not built according to required standards. The improper connection allowed sand to flow out beneath the road surface, leading to subsidence.

Engineers from Pattaya City’s Sanitation and Engineering Department inspected the site and carried out immediate temporary repairs to stabilize the area. Officials said they will continue to track down the person responsible for the unauthorized pipe connection and require them to correct the installation according to regulations.

City officials thanked residents for reporting the problem and encouraged the public to continue notifying authorities about damaged infrastructure or potential hazards.

Residents can report issues such as damaged roads, broken streetlights, or other public infrastructure concerns through the Pattaya Connect mobile application or by calling the city’s 1337 public service hotline. Officials said reports are handled promptly, with teams dispatched to inspect and resolve problems as quickly as possible.

Pattaya City emphasized that community participation plays an important role in maintaining the city’s infrastructure and ensuring a safe environment for residents.
