PATTAYA, Thailand – The Thai Meteorological Department has forecast hot daytime temperatures with a slight chance of thunderstorms for eastern Thailand, including Pattaya, over the next 24 hours.

According to the latest weather report issued on March 14, rain across upper Thailand is expected to decrease, although isolated thunderstorms may still occur in some areas. The Central and Eastern regions, including Pattaya and nearby coastal provinces, will experience hot conditions during the day.

Meteorologists say the weather pattern is being influenced by a moderate high-pressure system from China that continues to cover northeastern Thailand and the South China Sea. This system is bringing easterly and southeasterly winds across upper Thailand, contributing to unstable weather conditions.

For eastern provinces such as Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Trat, there is about a 10% chance of thunderstorms, while daytime temperatures are expected to reach 32–36°C, with nighttime lows between 23–26°C.

At sea, waves in the Gulf of Thailand are expected to average around 1 meter, but could rise to over 2 meters in areas experiencing thunderstorms. Authorities are advising boat operators to navigate with caution and avoid stormy areas.

Residents and visitors in Pattaya are also advised to take care during hot daytime conditions and remain alert for sudden storms, which can still occur in isolated areas.
