BANGKOK, Thailand – The Royal Thai Government has completed the distribution of remedial financial assistance to 695,945 households affected by border incidents between Thailand and Cambodia. The total disbursement, amounting to over 3.313 billion Baht, covered seven border provinces. Si Sa Ket and Surin reported the highest number of eligible households and total compensation paid.
Deputy Government Spokesperson Airin Phanrit stated that this assistance follows Cabinet resolutions passed on August 26, 2025, and December 23, 2025. These measures support citizens affected by foreign forces along the border in July and December 2025, which resulted in significant damage to private property, homes, agricultural land, and public infrastructure.
The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) coordinated transfers through the Government Savings Bank (GSB) to residents in Chanthaburi, Trat, Sa Kaeo, Ubon Ratchathani, Buriram, Surin, and Si Sa Ket. The first phase supported 307,188 households with 1.375 billion Baht, and the second phase assisted 388,757 households with 1.938 billion Baht.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to citizen safety and well-being. Security agencies have been directed to monitor the border closely to ensure public safety and protect national sovereignty. (NNT)
