BANGKOK, Thailand – Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Ekniti Nitithanprapas has said Thailand’s recent participation in the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2026 in Switzerland has strengthened investor confidence, with Nestlé reaffirming Thailand as a strategic base for the Indochina region.

Ekniti met with Remy Ejel, executive vice president and chief executive officer of Nestlé for Asia, Oceania, and Africa, together with Board of Investment Secretary-General Narit Therdsteerasukdi. Nestlé announced its business direction and confirmed its long-term role in Thailand as a regional production and export hub serving domestic and global markets.

Nestlé has operated in Thailand since 1893 and maintains its regional headquarters in Bangkok, with eight production facilities nationwide employing more than 3,000 workers. Its operations span food, beverages, pet food, and agricultural processing, with exports reaching markets in Asia, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, the United States, and Africa. Over the past five to six years, the company has invested more than 28 billion baht in the country.

Thailand has become a major global hub for Nestlé’s pet food business under the Purina brand, with two large manufacturing plants that mainly produce for export. The operations rely heavily on raw materials from Thai farmers and producers, adding value to agricultural products and supporting income across the supply chain.

Nestlé also confirmed continued cooperation on workforce development through training programs and partnerships with Thai universities, aligning with government upskilling and reskilling policies. (NNT)
