PATTAYA, Thailand – Thailand’s Meteorological Department has reported that a new wave of moderately strong to strong cold air from China has spread over upper Thailand, bringing stronger winds and slightly cooler temperatures to several regions, including the eastern seaboard and Pattaya.

According to the 24-hour forecast, the high-pressure system is strengthening winds across the Northeast and the East, while causing temperatures in upper Thailand to edge downward. Residents are advised to take care of their health as weather conditions change and to exercise caution when traveling in areas affected by morning fog.

For Pattaya and the eastern region, the weather is expected to be cooler in the morning with strong northeast winds, with temperatures dropping by around 1–2 degrees Celsius. Minimum temperatures will range between 18–24°C, while daytime highs will reach 31–34°C. Winds are forecast at 15–35 km/h, and sea conditions will be slightly rough, with waves around 1 meter, increasing to over 1 meter offshore.

Mariners and operators of small boats in the Pattaya area are advised to proceed with caution, particularly offshore, as wind and wave conditions may become hazardous at times.

In the South, isolated thunderstorms are still expected due to the strengthening northeast monsoon over the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea. In the lower Gulf, waves are forecast to reach around 2 meters, and more than 2 meters in areas affected by thunderstorms. Fishermen and boat operators are urged to avoid sailing in stormy conditions.

Regarding air quality, dust and haze accumulation across much of Thailand, including Bangkok and surrounding areas, remains at moderate levels, supported by improved air circulation and stronger winds. In the Northeast and East, including Pattaya, dust accumulation is currently low due to breezy conditions.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation and advise the public, tourists, and marine operators in Pattaya to stay updated on weather warnings, particularly as winds strengthen along the coast over the coming days.
