
BANGKOK, Thailand – Thailand and Mongolia recently commemorated 52 years of diplomatic relations with the concert “The 2 Colours of Sound,” held at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. The event was organized by the Thai Cultural Council in Mongolia in cooperation with the Honorary Consulate of Mongolia for Phuket and Phang Nga, with support from public and private partners.
The concert was attended by scores of distinguished guests, including members of the Senate, the Honorary Consuls Association of Thailand, led by chairman Dr. Chumpol Phornprapha, and KMITL President Asst. Prof. Dr. Komsan Maleesee, senior university executives, representatives of the Ministry of Culture, diplomats from the Embassy of Mongolia, internationally known designers Michel and Amazonka, and members of the media.
The program featured performances blending tradition with modern expression. Thailand was represented by Usa Asili, combining Thai classical instruments with contemporary sounds. Mongolia’s Agmat presented the Morin Khuur and traditional throat singing, while Solongo and Selenge Gankhuyag delivered a Yatga performance in a pop-jazz style that drew a strong audience response.
Beyond the performances, the event advanced cooperation between the two countries through academic and business activities. Memorandums of understanding were signed between KMITL and Ikh Zasag International University, and Yes-Mongolia and KMITL Connext arranged business networking sessions to expand commercial ties.
