BANGKOK, Thailand – Nations have committed to a unified front against cybercrime with the adoption of the “Bangkok Joint Statement 2025,” marking the conclusion of a high-level summit hosted by Thailand.

Closing the International Conference on Global Partnership Against Online Scams (IC-GPOS), Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs Vijavat Isarabhakdi stated that the forum successfully transformed political awareness into a concrete six-point roadmap for action. This strategic framework focuses on integrating government responses, strengthening cross-border law enforcement, and enhancing financial intelligence to freeze illicit money trails faster.

The joint statement also emphasizes a victim-centric approach, particularly in distinguishing trafficked individuals from perpetrators, while calling for increased investment in public digital immunity and technological cooperation to outpace evolving criminal tactics.

Vijavat noted that the 2025 Joint Statement reflects a strong political commitment and serves as a vital foundation for a sustained global partnership to dismantle the sophisticated syndicates behind online fraud. (TNA)
