ACM Prapas affirms that despite the House dissolution, Thailand’s security operations continue uninterrupted under martial law, with military actions focused solely on lawful self-defense and protection of civilians.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Air Chief Marshal Prapas Sornchaidee, Director of the Joint Press Center on the Thailand–Cambodia Situation, has affirmed that the dissolution of the House of Representatives on December 11 does not affect the government’s authority to carry out national security duties. He stated that the caretaker administration retains full legal power to act and that operations to protect the public will continue without interruption.

According to ACM Prapas, border tensions remain high after a series of Cambodian attacks on Thai territory. The Thai Armed Forces are responding under the legal framework of self-defense in both Thai and international law, with actions limited to stopping threats against civilians and safeguarding national sovereignty.

Martial law remains in effect in border areas, and the government and military maintain full command authority. Security operations across all branches are progressing as planned. The Joint Press Center will continue to issue updates to ensure the public receives accurate, verified information.

ACM Prapas said Thailand continues to seek peace but must take lawful steps to protect its people and territory, reaffirming that military responses remain controlled and grounded in established legal and humanitarian standards.

The public is advised to rely on official sources, avoid restricted areas, and refrain from posting or sharing content that could compromise the safety of personnel in the field. (NNT)
