BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul reaffirmed Thailand’s hardline stance on the ongoing Thai–Cambodian border conflict, posting on his personal Facebook account at 7:20 p.m. on December 9 that the country will not enter a ceasefire.
“Thailand’s direction remains status quo. No ceasefire,” Anutin wrote, underscoring that the government’s position has not changed despite intensified clashes reported along multiple border sectors.
The post comes as Thai forces continue defensive operations and authorities maintain heightened readiness across affected provinces. The government has repeatedly stated that any de-escalation depends solely on Cambodia’s compliance with conditions set by Thailand. (TNA)
