Monthong Wittaya School’s celebrated “dark horse” football team receives a 4.5 million baht electric bus from Thai Smile Bus, replacing their iconic “Dream Carrier” and helping the students travel safely and sustainably to future matches.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Thai Smile Bus (TSB) on Tuesday donated a new 100% electric (EV) bus, valued at 4.5 million baht, to the viral sensation high school football team, Monthong Wittaya School, marking a significant upgrade for the celebrated underdog squad.

The presentation was attended by the school director, teachers, coaches, and players who accepted the bus, which TSB hopes will allow the students to “journey toward their dreams safely and sustainably.”

Why the Bus is Crucial to the Team’s Story

The donation holds immense symbolic and practical value for Monthong Wittaya, the team that captured national attention as the “dark horse” of the 2025 Champions League 7HD Seven-a-Side Football Tournament.

The team, hailing from Bang Nam Priao district in Chachoengsao, became famous for their humble means. Prior to this gift, the team’s primary mode of transport to major matches was often a refurbished, old lorry or truck known by fans as the “Dream Carrier.” This old vehicle symbolized the players’ limited resources and sheer determination, contrasting sharply with the air-conditioned buses used by their better-funded opponents from elite football academies.

TSB executives stated that since the company’s vehicle production plant is also located in Chachoengsao province, they were inspired to support the local team that brought such fame and inspiration to the region. The company committed to providing an electric bus driving instructor for the school and will send maintenance teams for future repairs, ensuring the vehicle remains a reliable asset for the team’s continued success.
