PATTAYA, Thailand – As the city welcomes the start of its high season, Pattaya residents and tourists should prepare for sudden rain showers and isolated thunderstorms on Tuesday. The Meteorological Department reports that while rainfall is easing across northern Thailand, pockets of storms remain possible along the eastern seaboard, including Chonburi and Rayong.
Visitors enjoying Pattaya’s beaches and outdoor attractions are advised to carry umbrellas or rain gear, as thunderstorms may appear unexpectedly, particularly in the afternoon and evening. Winds are expected from the southeast at moderate speeds, and waves in the Gulf of Thailand could reach over two meters in storm-affected areas, making boating risky.
Typhoon Fung-wong, currently near the Philippines, is forecast to move toward the upper South China Sea and the Taiwan Strait by November 12–13, with no expected impact on Thailand.
Despite the weather, temperatures in Pattaya remain warm, with daytime highs around 32–35°C and lows of 24–25°C, offering a typical tropical climate for travelers. Tourists and locals alike are urged to stay aware of weather updates to enjoy the city safely.
