Thailand’s Loy Krathong festivities on November 5 will proceed nationwide with a gentler, more respectful atmosphere, honoring the grace and benevolence of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. The “VIJIT CHAO PHRAYA 2025” festival will feature a drone light show themed “Light of Siam – Mother of the Land.”

BANGKOK, Thailand – The government has confirmed that Loy Krathong celebrations will be held nationwide as scheduled, while requesting public cooperation in observing the festival in a more restrained and respectful manner, in tribute to the benevolence of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.

Deputy Government Spokesperson Airin Phanrit stated that November 5, marks this year’s Loy Krathong festival—an important Thai cultural tradition passed down through generations, preserving local customs, community identity, and the connection between people and waterways. She affirmed that the festival will still illuminate rivers and communities nationwide, though the festive music and bright displays will be toned down this year. Organizers are asked to celebrate through tradition, reverence, and heartfelt participation, honoring the grace and generosity Her Majesty has bestowed upon the nation.

The government, together with TAT, has adjusted the presentation of “VIJIT CHAO PHRAYA 2025,” from November 9 to December 23, 2025, to align with the theme “Light of Siam – Mother of the Land.” In place of fireworks, a drone light display will offer a gentle tribute, with visual elements softened to express quiet reverence. On New Year’s Eve, the “Light of the Nation Candle Tribute” will invite the public to come together in shared remembrance and devotion.

The government invites all to join the festival with grace, awareness, and respect, in honor of Thailand’s cultural heritage.
