Thailand’s winter kicks off late this year with milder temperatures and heavy rain in the south — a reminder to stay prepared.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Thai Meteorological Department predicts that the 2025-2026 winter season will begin around late October and last until the end of February, about two weeks later than usual, which normally starts in mid-October.

This year, cooler weather will be milder than last year. The northern regions of Thailand are expected to see average minimum temperatures around 21°C, slightly warmer than 20.7°C recorded in 2024.

In the southern provinces, some areas may experience brief cool periods, but rainfall will remain heavy, particularly in the eastern areas in November and December. Residents in the south are advised to remain vigilant for potential flooding.
