PATTAYA, Thailand – The Meteorological Department has issued a weather warning for central Thailand, Bangkok and its surrounding areas, the eastern provinces, and the south, as heavy thunderstorms are expected in some locations. Residents in these areas are advised to stay alert for potential hazards from heavy rain. Rainfall in the north and northeast has decreased.

Over the next 24 hours, the north and northeast will experience reduced rain but still see occasional thunderstorms. Central Thailand, including Bangkok and its vicinity, the eastern provinces, and the south will experience heavy rainfall in some areas. The warning is due to the southward movement of the monsoon trough over the central and eastern regions, combined with ongoing southwest monsoon winds over the Andaman Sea, southern Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand.

At sea, waves in the Andaman and Gulf of Thailand are around 1 meter high, rising above 2 meters in areas with thunderstorms. Fishermen and boat operators are advised to exercise caution and avoid traveling in stormy areas.

Pattaya and nearby coastal areas will experience thunderstorms with heavy rain in some spots. Nighttime temperatures are expected to be cooler, ranging from 24–26°C, while daytime highs may reach 33–35°C. Residents and visitors should prepare for sudden showers and enjoy slightly cooler evenings.
