PATTAYA, Thailand – Deputy Mayor Wuthisak Rermkijakarn is spearheading a series of administrative measures to improve order and safety across Pattaya, with a focus on parking management, market regulation, and flood preparedness.
Deputy Mayor Wuthisak chaired a meeting with the city’s administrative division, including heads of policy, municipal order, and related departments, at the Pattaya City Hall conference room. The meeting reviewed progress on previous directives, evaluated the performance of various departments, and addressed operational challenges to ensure orderly public services and a positive image for the city.
Deputy Mayor Wuthisak highlighted three key priorities. First, he emphasized the ongoing regulation of Naklua’s Lan Pho Market. City officials will continue to monitor the market closely, preventing vendors from adding unauthorized stalls or placing merchandise outside designated areas. Selling in front of the Pattaya Rak Center is also prohibited after recent reorganization efforts. These measures aim to maintain a clean, organized, and fully functional market that can serve as a landmark for tourists, offering a pleasant dining and shopping experience while supporting the local community and economy.
Second, Pattaya will implement an odd-even parking rule along South Pattaya Road, from Wat Chaimongkol intersection to Sue Sa intersection (Telecommunication). The regulated hours will change from 11 a.m.–11 p.m. to 11 a.m.–9 p.m., and the city will conduct ongoing public awareness campaigns. The rule is set to take effect 1 October 2025, and authorities will strictly enforce compliance to ease traffic congestion and improve road order.
Finally, Deputy Mayor Wuthisak instructed that city staff be fully prepared to respond to areas prone to flooding during heavy rainfall. Teams will provide traffic assistance and help residents navigate floodwaters safely. Officials were also reminded to prevent drivers from attempting to pass through deep water for their safety, and if violations occur, they are to document the incidents with photos or videos to avoid conflicts and ensure proper public understanding.
Through these coordinated efforts, Pattaya aims to improve public safety, traffic flow, and the overall visitor experience while fostering a well-managed city environment.
