Pichai confident economy can be managed, U.S. tax talks unaffected

Deputy PM and Finance Minister Pichai assures that Thailand’s economic management remains on track and U.S. tax talks will continue smoothly despite recent political developments.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Pichai Chunhachirawong expressed confidence that Thailand’s economic issues can be resolved following the political setback of former Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra. He emphasized that whoever is responsible will continue to manage economic affairs.

Speaking at Government House at 9:45 a.m. on August 30, Pichai was asked about potential economic impacts after Paethongtarn’s political mishap. He said, “I believe everything can be resolved in economic matters. Whoever is responsible still has to oversee them.”



When asked whether steps are needed to restore economic confidence, he replied, “Everything can be addressed in economic matters. Whoever is responsible still has to manage it.”

On whether U.S. tax and trade negotiations would be affected, Pichai assured, “There will be no disruption.” (TNA)
