
BANGKOK, Thailand – The Government Public Relations Department (PRD) of Thailand is gearing up to present a special exhibition at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, taking place from 13 April to 13 October 2025 in Osaka, Japan. The PRD’s exhibition will be located in the Temporary Exhibition Zone behind the Thailand Pavilion, under the theme “Thainess Power: Connecting Lives for Greatest Happiness”. It presents new and diverse perspectives on Thailand’s Soft Power, shifting the image of the country from a mere “travel destination” to a source of “inspiration,” offering happiness, memorable experiences, and lasting impressions.
The exhibition will highlight three key zones:
– A Touch of Thainess Giveaway – exploring Thailand’s path toward sustainability, in line with global environmental trends, and inspiring eco-friendly tourism.
– The Power of Thailand – highlighting Thailand’s rising role as a Soft Power hub, encouraging international visitors to experience Thainess firsthand.
– AI Photobooth: Experience the Thainess Power – offering visitors the chance to virtually dress in Thai attire with iconic landmarks or enjoy the fun of elephant-pattern pants, and take home a unique keepsake.
Another highlight is the Thai Soft Power Stamp Collection, featuring 14 categories:
– 1-14 Sept: Art, Food, Performing Arts
– 5-8 Sept: Games, Festivals, TV Series
– 9-12 Sept: Books, Music, Films, Tourism
– 13-16 Sept: Fashion, Sports, Wellness, Design
The World Exposition, also known as Expo, has been held every five years for more than 174 years, and is the world’s largest showcase of creativity and innovation. Japan is now hosting Expo 2025 under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives” from 13 April to 13 October 2025 on Yumeshima Island, Osaka Bay, with over 500,000 visitors already registered.
Japan remains one of Thailand’s most important tourism markets, ranking fifth in tourist spending. In the first half of 2025, more than 500,000 Japanese visitors traveled to Thailand. The PRD’s participation at Expo 2025 provides a unique opportunity to promote Thailand’s Soft Power, deepen cultural understanding, and inspire even more Japanese tourists to experience Thailand.
