PATTAYA, Thailand – Monday, 11August – Pleasant Valley welcomed golfers with fine weather and a course in excellent condition, although some pin positions were particularly challenging. After a correction to last Friday’s Navy scorecard—where the back nine had been misread – players were eager to start the week with clean scores and strong competition.
Raleigh Gosney, having enjoyed several placings over recent years but never a win, finally claimed first place with 39 points, leaving a few points behind on the course. Wednesday, 13August – The midweek round at Bangpra Golf Course saw pleasant weather and a course in excellent condition. Play progressed smoothly, with only a brief delay at the eighth tee.
Les Cobban shone with a strong start, scoring 22 points on the front nine and finishing with 35 points to take first place. Hubert Stiefenhofer recovered after a slower back nine to secure second with 32 points, while Jon Dean took third with 28 points. Friday, 15 August – The week ended on a solemn note at Plutaluang South & East as members mourned the sudden passing of long-standing member Chris Delamare during a visit to Hua Hin. Chris was remembered as a friendly and skilled golfer, and his loss was deeply felt.
On the course, Plutaluang’s South and East nines offered mixed conditions, with the East greens particularly slow and bumpy. Scoring was modest, with Alan Sullivan and Alan Howard both reaching 32 points, Alan Sullivan claiming first place on countback. Steve Elles took third with 30 points.
