
BANGKOK, Thailand – Deputy Prime Minister and Acting Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai, joined by his spouse, presided over a royal almsgiving ceremony at Sanam Luang Monday morning (July 28) to commemorate His Majesty the King’s birthday anniversary.
The ceremony drew senior figures from across all branches of government, including members of the Privy Council, the President of the Senate, the President of the Supreme Court, cabinet ministers, and leaders of independent constitutional organizations. Top military and police officials, including the commanders-in-chief of the armed forces and the Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, were also in attendance.
Other attendees included the Bangkok Governor, the Secretary-General to the Prime Minister, Royal Household officials, and scores of senior civil servants.
The observance featured Buddhist merit-making rites and almsgiving, part of nationwide tributes held in celebration of His Majesty’s birthday anniversary this year. (NNT)
