BANGKOK, Thailand – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Guangzhou Office, in collaboration with Beijing Eagle Fly Aviation Service Co., Ltd., officially launched the “Changsha – Bangkok” charter flight on July 12 at Changsha Huanghua International Airport to support Thai tourism during the peak summer travel season. The launch ceremony featured a send-off for the inaugural flight and drew strong interest from local media and travel industry representatives.
During the event, the director of the TAT Guangzhou Office welcomed passengers and distributed Thailand SIM cards, allowing travelers to stay connected upon arrival. Operated on an Airbus A320 with 179 seats, the inaugural flight carried 156 passengers, achieving a load factor of over 87 percent. The majority of travelers were families and young Free Independent Travelers (FITs), signaling renewed travel demand among Chinese visitors.
The charter route operates four times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, offering consistent service between Changsha and Bangkok. The launch received wide media coverage from outlets in Hunan province, including Hunan TV, Xiaoxiang Morning Post, Tencent Hunan, and China Tourism News, which featured interviews and reports highlighting the route’s return.
TAT is promoting a range of family- and youth-oriented travel options in Thailand, including theme parks, educational experiences, creative workshops, wellness retreats, and urban shopping experiences.
Throughout July and August, TAT Guangzhou and Beijing Eagle Fly Aviation Service will jointly promote outbound travel from southern China, with a focus on Hunan province. The campaign also supports long-term tourism and cultural engagement between Thailand and Chinese provinces with strong outbound travel potential.
