BANGKOK, Thailand – Ms. Jiraporn Sindhuprai, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, will lead Thailand’s delegation to the 17th BRICS Summit, taking place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on 6–7 July 2025.

Held under the theme “Strengthening Global South Cooperation for More Inclusive and Sustainable Governance,” the summit will focus on key global challenges, including public health, trade and finance, climate change, AI governance, multilateral reform in peace and security, and institutional development.


Having first participated in the BRICS Plus Leaders’ Meeting in 2017, Thailand aims to reaffirm its commitment to deeper cooperation with BRICS—especially in economic development, sustainability, and innovation.

BRICS, made up of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, is a coalition of emerging economies promoting peace, inclusive growth, and balanced global governance. Through BRICS Plus, the bloc engages other countries to amplify the voice of the Global South. (NNT)
