PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya officials have announced that the long-awaited renovation project along Jomtien Beach Road is nearing completion, bringing excitement to both locals and long-term visitors who have endured months of construction and traffic detours.
The Jomtien Beach landscaping and infrastructure improvement project, which has been ongoing for more than a year, includes several major upgrades. Among them are the expansion of rainwater drainage systems, upgrades to beachside lighting, and the creation of wider, more orderly pedestrian sidewalks. The project also adds more parking spaces along the beachfront, addressing a long-standing issue for visitors and businesses alike.
As one city official commented, “The Jomtien Beach Road landscaping project is almost finished. We’ve increased parking spaces, improved pedestrian walkways to be more beautiful and organized, expanded the rainwater drainage system, and the beach lighting system will also be included in this project.”

One of the most eagerly awaited changes will be the full return of two-way traffic along Jomtien Beach Road. Since the beginning of the project, parts of the road have been reduced to a one-way system to facilitate construction, causing congestion and confusion. City officials say that once the final resurfacing and finishing touches are complete, the road will fully reopen in both directions, greatly improving traffic flow and accessibility.
The completion of the Jomtien Beach project is expected to enhance the area’s appeal as a prime seaside destination, benefiting residents, tourists, and businesses just in time for the upcoming high season.
Authorities have not yet announced the exact reopening date but confirmed that the project should be completed within the coming weeks.
