PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya police responded to reports of a brawl between Thai nationals and two foreign tourists outside a 7-Eleven convenience store on South Pattaya Road.
The incident began when local residents witnessed a heated argument between two foreign men and a Thai man. A Thai woman attempted to intervene, but the confrontation escalated into a physical fight, with the foreigners reportedly attacking the Thai man. Witnesses, angered by the scene, rushed to assist and fought back against the tourists, forcing them to retreat.
However, tensions reignited later at the 7-Eleven store. Police arriving at the scene found about 30 Thai men and women shouting at the two foreign nationals — identified as Mr. Amirhousin Nasrollahi, 25, and Mr. Hakim Lashari, 34, both holding British nationality. Despite police efforts to calm the situation, Mr. Hakim allegedly provoked the crowd by making obscene gestures, leading a Thai man to punch him in the face, knocking him to the ground. Chaos broke out again as several locals attacked, forcing the tourists to seek refuge inside the convenience store.
According to Jaran Kerdpha, a 44-year-old Bolt rider, the incident started when Mr. Hakim drove too close to his motorcycle. Although no collision occurred, Mr. Hakim allegedly threw a garbage bag at Jaran’s motorcycle, sparking a shouting match that led to the violent altercation caught on video.
Police later fined both the foreign tourists and involved Thai individuals for public fighting. The foreign tourists agreed to compensate the Thai parties with a payment of 15,000 baht before the groups dispersed.
